The Copyguard^© CopyManager 10ME is capable of being fitted to a wide range of host equipment, including copiers, copy duplicators and microfiche reader printers, providing the ultimate in flexibility and control for those organizations wishing to sell and control copies.

Here’s how it works:

A deposit is deducted from the user’s card when initially inserted, in case the chipcard is prematurely removed from the 6550 reader and copying is left unpaid.  This deposit is refunded to the user’s card at the end of the transaction.

After the deposit has been deducted, the price of the copies taken is deducted.

To provide additional security, it is also possible to assign a PIN (Personal Identification Number) to Staff Cards.  When cards are issued all carry a 0000 PIN number, but users can allocate their own PIN when they first insert their card into the 6550 terminal.

When staff members insert their card into the CopyManager 10ME terminal, they must select between “Personal Cash” and “Dept. Cash” to confirm whether they are copying for personal use or for departmental use.  The terminal will then deduct funds from the appropriate purse.
